The prompt response by Telangana Emergency Response Support System (Dial-112) on Friday (June 13) prevented four major crimes across the state, including an attempted rape, a murder bid, molestation, and a missing child case.
The State’s centralised emergency platform, managed from the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGICCC) in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, acted as the nerve centre for rapid response. The Dial-112 system, which brings together all key emergency helplines under a single umbrella, ensured swift action across four different locations in the state, said the director of TGICCC, Kamalassan Reddy.
In the first case, a child who had gone missing from the Labour Colony in Kokapet, within the Narsingi police station limits, was safely traced and reunited with his mother, Sunitha Dev. A prompt call to Dial-112 led to rapid coordination with local police, allowing officers to locate the child before any harm could occur.
Meanwhile, in Amberpet, an individual was caught filming a woman without her consent. Responding swiftly, police apprehended the suspect and took him in for questioning and legal action.
In Nalgonda district’s Kethepally area, a violent domestic dispute turned into a murder attempt when a man allegedly tried to kill his father. The incident was intercepted in time by police officers who responded to the emergency alert, potentially saving a life.
The fourth case unfolded in Sangareddy town, where a man allegedly tried to rape his daughter-in-law. Once again, swift intervention prevented the assault and the accused was taken into custody.
The Telangana Police has called on citizens to use Dial-112 without hesitation in any crisis, noting that a single timely call is the difference between life and death.
