Did BTS’ SUGA get injured during military service? Fans spot alleged scar during livestream

BTS’ member, Suga made his first public appearance since completing his alternative military service during a surprise OT7 livestream on July 1, 2025. While the reunion thrilled fans, the observant fandom, ARMYs, noticed something unusual, a scar on Suga’s palm, which actually sparked concerns about a possible injury occurring during his service.

What fans noticed

During the Weverse livestream, the BTS members playfully responded to RM’s cue to show their palms. While the other six members complied, SUGA hesitated. When he eventually waved goodbye, fans spotted what appeared to be folded skin or a scar on his palm, as per Pinkvilla. This led to speculation that he may have been injured during his 21-month alternative service as a public service worker. Though so far, neither SUGA nor BigHit Music has commented on the alleged injury.

Suga’s military service background

Unlike his bandmates, who served in active duty, SUGA was assigned to public service due to prior health issues, including a long-standing shoulder injury. Suga began his service in September 2023 and was formally released on June 21, 2025.Suga reflected on his time away and expressed regret for the DUI incident in August 2024 in a heartfelt letter to his devoted fandom on Weverse. He wrote, “I’m truly sorry for the disappointment and concern caused by what happened last year… I will do my best to repay the love you’ve given me,” according to Koreaboo.

Fan Reactions

The livestream was meant to be a joyful reunion, but the possible scar quickly became a trending topic. Some fans expressed concern, while others urged patience and respect for SUGA’s privacy. One fan wrote, “Whatever his reason is for not showing up live just yet today… it’s okay. It’s more than okay.”You can see a post that was posted by a fan.
