She discovered her 1966 Santa Barbara Christian School suspension report while she was sorting out some memories from before. She posted a story on her social media handle with the screenshot of the article, which stated that the singer had been punished for humping a tree while daydreaming about Tom Cruise.

The report read, “At the 2:00 p.m. recess, Katy and four other students were in an ‘off-limits’ area (behind the backboards) practicing a skit.

Katy pretended that the tree was Tom Cruise and began making sexual motions (pelvic thrusts) to the tree.” Katy was asked to describe or demonstrate what she had been seen doing in front of some other students on the playground when she met with her teachers, Mrs. Calkins and Mr. White. Katy finally described it and said that it was "inappropriate" and "like making out."
