A 22-year-old Indian man has alleged that he was subjected to racial harassment by a group of teenagers while waiting at a bus stop in Ireland. Sharing his experience in a Reddit post, the man claimed the teenagers made multiple rounds in a car and hurled racist slurs at him.The incident reportedly took place after he left work. “I naturally thought they were asking for directions or something. I went up to the car, and they called me ‘hey sweet cheeks’,” the man wrote. He added that the group returned a second time, calling him "handsome" followed by other comments, and later shouted racist slurs during a third drive-by.“There were two Irish people at the stop with me and another brown guy I don’t know, and nobody spoke up.
We are on our own when push comes to shove,” he wrote, expressing disappointment at the bystanders' silence. The post, which comes from an unverified user, has sparked a flurry of reactions online. While one user commented, “Start videoing these idiots with your smartphones,” another, identifying as Irish, wrote, “I’m Irish and am sorry this happened to you... We are all better than this.”
Another individual shared a similar experience, claiming they too were harassed by teenagers in a car a month ago in broad daylight.

The Embassy is in touch with the authorities concerned of Ireland in this regard. At the same time, all Indian citizens in Ireland are advised to take reasonable precautions for their personal security and avoid deserted areas especially in odd hours,” the embassy wrote on X.
