University of Mysore Vice-Chancellor N.K. Lokanath on Tuesday emphasised the need for higher education institutions to strengthen research ecosystems through innovation and collaborations.
After inaugurating a national conference on ‘Emerging Paradigms in Research Methodology’ organised by the Teresian College Research Centre (Commerce) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell at Teresian College here, Mr. Lokanath highlighted the importance of adopting digital tools and interdisciplinary approaches to enhance the relevance and impact of academic research.
In his key-note address, Registrar (Evaluation) N. Nagaraja discussed the transformation of research methodologies in the contemporary academic world and underlined the significance of analytical thinking, technological adaptation, and ethical responsibility in ensuring quality research outcomes.
The conference was organised to provide a platform to academicians, researchers, and students to explore the emerging trends and innovative practices in research methodologies across various disciplines.
The conference included four technical sessions, featuring resource persons from reputed institutions. P.S. Immaculate, professor, Department of Management Studies, Sri Sai Ram Institute of Technology, Chennai, delivered a session on ‘Understanding the research process and developing theoretical framework’.
B. Nagaraju, professor and Chairman, Board of Studies in Commerce, University of Mysore, led the session on ‘Research Report Writing’. At the conference, Aatika Bi, assistant professor, Department of Commerce, Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru, conducted two sessions on ‘AI tools for academic writing’ and ‘AI tools for academic publishing’.
The organisers said that the conference served as an enriching academic experience, fostering discussions on the evolving paradigms of research in the digital era.
