Dipika Kakar gets emotional as she says goodbye to three-year-old son Ruhaan ahead of her liver cyst surgery

Dipika Kakar, who recently informed fans about a new health scare after being diagnosed with a liver cyst, has undergone a medical procedure for it. Her husband Shoaib revealed in his latest vlog that the surgery went well but the actress is in lot of pain.

He also informed fans that Dipika was recovering under medical supervision. In the same video, the actor captured Dipika's emotional moments with son Ruhaan before her hospitalisation.In the vlog, Dipika Kakar became emotional as she said goodbye to her son before heading to the hospital. She tightly hugged her three-year-old son, Ruhaan, with tears in her eyes before leaving for her cyst surgery. This did not go unnoticed by her son who asked her why she was emotional. Ruhaan, who was unable to understand why his mother was crying, innocently asked her, “Aap Kyun Ro Rahe Ho Mumma?”Dipika Kakar, trying to control her tears, told him that she was crying because she would miss him while she was away for the surgery.

After hearing this, Ruhaan hugged her tightly and gave her a kiss.For the uninitiated, Dipika has been battling stage 2 liver cancer since early last year. In June 2025, she underwent surgery to remove a tumour as part of her treatment.On February 20, Shoaib Ibrahim uploaded a vlog on his YouTube channel and revealed that Dipika Kakar had been suffering from severe stomach pain along with shoulder pain. He said the symptoms were very similar to what she experienced last year when she was diagnosed with a liver tumour.

As her stomach pain worsened, they consulted a doctor. Following a check-up and a CT scan, they found she had developed another cyst measuring 13 mm (1.3 cm).For those who may not know, Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their son Ruhaan in 2023. The couple recently celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary, just a few days before her surgery.
