‘Dispatch electricity poles through department stores’

GESCOM Chairman Praveen Patil Harawal has directed officials that electricity poles should not be sent directly to work sites but must be routed through the department’s stores before dispatch.

He issued the instructions during an inspection of the GESCOM Regional Store, City Division Store, Meter Testing Laboratory and Transformer Testing Laboratory located on Old Jewargi Road here on Monday.

Mr. Harawal observed that since these facilities are located in the central part of the city, movement of large vehicles carrying material to the stores is causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public.

He said that efforts will be made to shift the facilities to a more suitable location to ease the situation.
