In an appeal aimed at supporting underprivileged students, Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana Dasari has requested that well-wishers and visitors refrain from bringing bouquets during courtesy calls or congratulatory visits. Instead, she urged them to donate pens and notebooks to benefit government school students.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the collector said that many government employees and voluntary organisations have been visiting her office with bouquets to convey their greetings. While appreciating the gesture, she recommended channelling that goodwill toward a more meaningful cause.
“The pens and books donated by visitors will be collected by the Red Cross and distributed among students studying in government schools. This will directly help children from economically weaker backgrounds and ensure that each congratulatory visit has a lasting impact,” the Collector said.
