NEW DELHI: A man in Hyderabad turned Diwali into a special celebration for the city’s delivery people. Gundeti Mahendhar Reddy, a digital creator, ordered boxes of sweets from platforms including Swiggy, Blinkit, BigBasket, and Zepto, and upon receiving each delivery, immediately presented the box to the delivery partner as a token of thanks. In a video shared on Instagram, Reddy is seen handing the sweets directly to delivery partners as they arrive with his orders, wishing each of them a “Happy Diwali.”"This Diwali, we decided to sweeten the smiles that make our deliveries special. Ordered sweets from different apps," Reddy wrote as caption.
The video quickly went viral on social media, capturing the hearts of viewers and earning widespread praise for Reddy’s thoughtful gesture. One user wrote ," Brother good part of this post is that you didn't show our delivery partners faces, even though they doing a dignified job."Another user wrote," On Diwali and Holi , i also do the same but i gave them cash too with sweets n chocolate hampers. The smile on delivery guys face was so satisfying. Best way to bring smile on someones face. ""Finally someone rewarding their efforts, " another user wrote. However, some critics claimed that Reddy’s gesture was merely for social media attention. Responding to the criticism, he wrote, " I made this reel because someone will get inspired from this and do the same thing for this Diwali and further festivals too. If it’s for views, I can delete the video after this Diwali. Views are not needed at all by me. People who say that this video was made for views, please at least bring a smile to 10 people's faces and come back.
I am definitely gonna delete this reel. Thank you."
