Do not evict farmer from land: Telangana high court

HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court has ordered the Rangareddy district revenue authorities not to evict 72-year-old farmer Annamoni Anthaiah from his 1.2-acre plot of agricultural land in Kanakamamidi village, Moinabad.Anthaiah approached the HC, stating that revenue authorities and the police were attempting to evict him from his land based on a complaint from private individuals who alleged that the land was Bhoodan land.Anthaiah had claimed that he had purchased the land through a registered sale deed in 1985, and that the revenue authorities had updated his name in the revenue records accordingly.

The petition was filed by six individuals, but they withdrew from the case.Justice CV Bhaskar Reddy directed the authorities and Moinabad police not to interfere with land. Meanwhile, he also ordered the revenue authorities to take action against Anthaiah if he is found to have violated any of the patta conditions.
