Dog clip sparks row, cops say it was a carcass

AHMEDABAD: A disturbing video purporting to show a community dog being tied to a motorcycle and dragged through the streets of an Ahmedabad district neighbourhood before being abandoned near a railway crossing went viral Friday.

Police, however, offered a differing version.Animal lovers alleged the video clearly showed the dog being dragged behind the two-wheeler. They said the cruelty resulted in the animal's death, demanding strict action under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

KN Bhukan, inspector, Sola police station, said, "We carried out a prima facie investigation and found the dog had died in front of a local's house. To dispose of the carcass, he tied its limbs to his motorcycle and dumped the body near a railway crossing." tnn
