Dominant Lando Norris tops Final Practice 3 at Canadian Grand Prix

McLaren driver Lando Norris put up a dominant show to top Saturday's third and final practice session at the Canadian Grand Prix. On a pleasant sunny afternoon in Montreal, Norris clocked a best lap of one minute and 11.799 seconds, finishing ahead of Ferrari's Charles Leclerc by 0.078 seconds.

Lando Norris topples Oscar Piastri and Lewis Hamilton in FP3

Mercedes' George Russell finished third in the third free practice session, FP3, with a time of 1:11.950, ahead of seven-time champion and Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton, who clocked 1:12.050.Four-time champion and Red Bull driver Max Verstappen was fifth. He finished with a time of 1:12.072, ahead of two-time champion Fernando Alonso of Aston Martin and Mercedes' Kimi Antonelli.McLaren’s and championship leader Oscar Piastri finished eighth with a time of 1:12.519.

Piastri, with 186 points to his name, is currently leading the Formula 1 Drivers' Standings, followed by Norris, who has 176 points. The two drivers are separated by just 10 points at the moment.

All eyes will be on Piastri in the qualifying session, and the Australian will be expected to put the poor Practice 3 performance behind him and get his campaign back on track when the cars line up on the grid. Considering his past performances and dominance this season, Piastri may well turn things in his favour on Saturday.

Williams drivers Carlos Sainz and Alexander Albon finished ninth and tenth, respectively, in the final practice. Sainz clocked 1:12.519, while Albon 1:12.573. It was an intense, exciting, and thrilling practice session, and the results show that the four top teams — McLaren, Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull — are all in contention to take pole position in the qualifying session.
