A banner of US President Donald Trump, displayed atop a bungalow in Gujarat’s Vadodara, was removed by authorities following a complaint from local Congress member Jitendra Solanki.
According to social media reports, the banner had been put up atop a bungalow at the Sardar Society, under Makarpura Police jurisdiction.
The banner, positioned near Sidhvai Mata Road, drew Solanki’s attention, prompting him to alert the police. Officers arrived at the spot and promptly took it down.
The move came in the light of Trump’s recent decision to impose a 50 per cent tariff on Indian goods.
“As a vigilant citizen, I believe the nation comes first. That is why I acted against the display of this banner," Solanki reportedly said.

Last week, Trump announced 25 per cent reciprocal tariffs on India that came into effect from August 7.
The US President on Wednesday also signed an executive order slapping an additional 25 per cent levy on India for New Delhi’s purchases of Russian oil, bringing the total duties to 50 per cent, among the highest imposed by the US on any country in the world.
The additional 25 per cent duty will come into effect after 21 days or August 27.
Meanwhile, a prominent American Congressman called the latest move by Donald Trump a “tariff tantrum" and said the action risks years of careful work to build a stronger US-India partnership.
Representative Gregory Meeks, a Democrat and Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Dems, on Thursday said that the US has “deep strategic, economic, and people-to-people ties" with India.
“Trump’s latest tariff tantrum risks years of careful work to build a stronger US-India partnership," Meeks wrote in an X post.
