We as humans might have thoroughly researched how to go to space, dive deep in waters, and make many countless discoveries; however, we are yet to crack the code to de-age ourselves.
While we are yet to build a medicine to stop aging, one can take precautions to keep themselves feeling and looking young by following some dietary habits. Following the same mantra, Tollywood veteran Nagarjuna, at the age of 66, keeps himself fit and energetic.
Finish dinner by 7 pm
While speaking with HT Lifestyle, Nagarjuna once mentioned that he finishes his dinner by 7 or 7:30 at night, which helps him keep his diet and lifestyle on track.
"I finish my dinner by 7 pm or 7:30 pm maximum. This will set your diet and lifestyle on track. The other thing is that many of us Indians have a dairy intolerance after a certain age and a gluten intolerance. These two, if you are off, half your problems are solved," he added.
Science behind finishing a meal early
Recently, renowned gastroenterologist Dr. Pal shared a video on Instagram where he broke down why Nagarjuna's lifestyle choice makes perfect sense.
He explained that once the sun goes down, digestive hormones start to wind down as well. If you eat at night, you are asking your body to do the work of digesting food while you sleep, and that could raise blood sugar and insulin levels. This changes how your metabolism works and affects how the fat is stored.
How to tackle late-night cravings
Dr. Pal said that Nagarjuna's daily schedule is much like time-restricted eating or intermittent fasting, where people will generally fast for 16 hours.
He explained that this method of eating aligns the body's natural circadian rhythm, which will improve sleep and overall health. In the video, he also mentioned that if someone has a late-night craving for a biryani, they should have it before 7 pm.Speaking of Nagarjuna's work, he was last seen in Dhanush's 'Kuberaa' and Rajinikanth's 'Coolie.' He is now working on his 100th film, which is tentatively named 'King100.'
