The much-anticipated Malayalam film series, 'Drishyam,' is back and rolling with its third installment. Veteran actor Mohanlal recently took to social media to share the first picture from the pooja ceremony.

He confirmed that the camera started rolling on the sets of 'Drishyam 3' on Monday. Mohanlal, who is seen in the role of Georgekutty in the crime thriller, made the announcement that he will be portraying the character once again. He shared pictures from the pooja ceremony and wrote, "Bringing Georgekutty’s world alive once again… Today marks the beginning of Drishyam 3 with the Pooja."

The team is seen lighting a diya, a traditional way to mark auspicious beginnings in Indian cinema.

About the 'Drishyam' franchise

'Drishyam' is one of the most iconic crime thrillers known for its gripping structure and suspense in its storytelling. The first part of the film was released in 2013, and the sequel in 2021.

It tells the story of Georgekutty, a cable TV operator who lives a simple life with his wife and two daughters.'Drishyam 3' is expected to be released in March 2026On the other hand, Mohanlal was last seen in 'Hridayapoorvam'. He is now gearing up for the release of an epic saga, 'Vrusshabha' directed by Nanda Kishore. He is also working on 'Patriot' alongside Mammootty and Fahadh Faasil.
