Mapusa: A head-on collision involving two cars on National Highway 66 near Peddem, Mapusa, significantly disrupted traffic that was proceeding towards Panaji.The incident occurred when one vehicle, which travelling from Mapusa, crossed the median, entered the opposite lane, and crashed into a car that was proceeding towards Mopa.The impact was severe, causing major damage to both vehicles, and was powerful enough to completely reverse the direction of one of the cars. A witness said the drivers of both the cars were injured in the accident and were immediately taken to the North Goa district hospital for treatment.Traffic flow was temporarily halted following the crash but the police quickly arrived on the scene to manage the congestion, conduct a preliminary investigation and clear the roadway.
