Drug bust in Rajasthan: 407 kg of poppy husk seized in Chittorgarh; smuggler flees

BHILWARA: Chanderiya police in Chittorgarh district seized over 400 kg of opium poppy husk from a Mahindra XUV late Saturday night. The police team set up a checkpoint under the Rolahera bridge when a speeding Mahindra XUV broke through the barricade and diverted onto a dirt road.Suspecting foul play, police gave chase, but the driver managed to flee under the cover of darkness, abandoning the vehicle.Upon searching the SUV, police discovered 22 plastic bags containing a total of 407 kg of illegal poppy husk. Two number plates were also recovered from the vehicle. All items were seized in accordance with NDPS Act procedures, and a case was registered.
