Drunk cop who hit 2 scooterists suspended

UT Police suspended head constable Jai Pal, who rammed into two scooterists, leaving them injured in Manimajra on Saturday. Medical report of head constable Jai Pal confirmed that he was under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident.

Police have registered an FIR against him under relevant sections of BNS.The cop, who was driving a car, allegedly rammed into two scooterists and injured two persons in Manimajra. After the accident, area residents caught the accused and handed him over to the police.At around 10:30pm, Kuldeep Chand, was riding his scooter on the road behind Manimajra Civil Hospital when Jai Pal’s car knocked him down.He sustained fractures in his hands and legs in the accident.After the first accident, the accused fled from the scene but hit another scooter rider a short distance away.People present in the market caught the accused and informed the police.
