In a shocking incident from Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, a son, in a drunken state, committed a heinous crime that has left the community in disbelief. This tragic story revolves around a 55-year-old auto driver named Himanshu, who brutally murdered his own parents, 81-year-old Hadibandhu Sahu and 72-year-old Shanti Sahu.

On the fateful night, following a family dispute, Himanshu, in a fit of rage, picked up a heavy hammer and attacked his parents. After bludgeoning them to death, he shockingly spent the night sleeping beside their bodies.

It was the next morning when the neighbours discovered the lifeless bodies of Hadibandhu and Shanti on a cot, with Himanshu sitting nearby. Horrified by the scene, the neighbours immediately alerted the police. Upon arrival, the police arrested Himanshu and sent the bodies to the PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada for postmortem.

During the investigation, it emerged that Himanshu’s wife and children had been living separately from him due to ongoing family disputes. A police officer noted that Himanshu was heavily intoxicated that night, which likely contributed to his violent outburst. The police are now conducting a thorough investigation to understand the full circumstances behind this tragic murder.
