Drunken husband kills wife over constant mobile phone use in Karnataka; accused arrested

UDUPI: An inebriated husband killed his wife due to her constant use of a mobile phone at Hiriyana village of Brahmavar taluk on Thursday night.Police said that the husband committed the heinous crime late because his wife was using a mobile phone for an extended period. The accused, Ganesh Poojari, was known for his excessive alcohol addiction. In a fit of rage over his wife Rekha's frequent mobile phone use, he consumed a lot of alcohol and argued with her. Around 11.30 pm, he allegedly killed her at home with a knife.A case has been registered at the Shankaranarayana police station under sections 103 and 351(2) BNS. Poojari, the accused in the case, was arrested and will be presented before the honourable court, police said.
