DTM champion Ayhancan Guven, teen prospect Elia Weiss confirmed for Porsche’s Madrid Rookie Test

Ayhancan Guven, the 2025 DTM champion and current Porsche factory driver, and 16-year-old Formula 4 champion Elia Weiss have been confirmed to take part in the upcoming Rookie Test in Madrid.

The two will represent Porsche in the test, which is scheduled for March 22, one day after the inaugural Madrid E-Prix. Both of them shared video messages to confirm their participation in the test.

Who is Madrid Rookie Test participant Ayhancan Guven?

Confirming the pair for the upcoming event, Porsche wrote on Instagram: “Sun, speed and super-fast drivers! @elialuisweiss and @ayhancanguven will be taking on the Rookie Test Day in Madrid on the 22nd of March.”

Ayhancan Guven, 28, previously drove a Formula E car during the Miami Rookie Free Practice session as well as at the Berlin Rookie Test last year.

He also competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Manthey Racing, in addition to serving as a factory driver for the Porsche Formula E team. The Turkish driver shared a video message on his Instagram Stories reacting to his participation in the Madrid Rookie Test.Ayhancan said, “Hi everyone, Ayhancan here. I will be back in Madrid with the Porsche Formula E team for the rookie test after Berlin last year.

It will once again be an exciting experience with a lot of track time for us rookie drivers, so I’m really looking forward to it. See you there.”He also shared a picture on his Instagram Stories and captioned it: “Formula E Rookie Test in Madrid, looking forward to it.”

Who is Elia Weiss?

Elia Weiss previously took part in the Berlin Rookie Test. He also shared a video message on his Instagram Stories confirming his participation in the rookie test in Madrid.

He said, “Hello everyone, Elia here. I’m very happy to announce that I’ll be back with the Porsche Formula E team for the rookie test. I can’t wait to get started and I’m super grateful for the opportunity. It’s going to be fun.”Elia Weiss is 16 years old and the son of former sportscar and Extreme E racer Claudia Hurtgen. He is German and competes in the Italian F4 Championship with Cram Motorsport.He was also part of R-ACE GP, which won the UAE F4 Championship last month. In a post following the win, he wrote on Instagram: “The @uae4series comes to an end with a positive weekend, finishing all races in the points and a P4 in Race 2. Massive congratulations to @r.ace.gp for winning the teams’ title, more than deserved for their hard work and perseverance.
