Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers are opening their NFL season on Friday, September 5, 2025, against the Kansas City Chiefs at Arena Corinthians in São Paulo, Brazil. The game is officially marked as a home game for the Chargers, but many fans felt cheated when they saw that one of the stadium end zones was painted with the Chiefs’ logo.
Fans quickly called it unfair, saying it was proof of “Chiefs bias.” The issue grew online as more videos and photos from the field spread.
Chargers fans spot Chiefs logo in end zone and call it unfair
Chargers supporters reacted with anger after seeing the Chiefs logo in the Brazil stadium before the Friday matchup. One fan wrote on X: “Why the F** do the Chiefs get their own endzone during a Chargers ‘home game’!? Dude WHAT THE F***.”*
Another said, “The chiefs having their own end zone for a Chargers ‘home game’ is absurd.”
A third added, “Lmao clear chiefs bias.”
Many fans compared the situation to last year’s Philadelphia Eagles “home game” in Brazil, when both end zones were painted for the Eagles.
In 2019, when the Chargers played the Chiefs in Mexico City, both end zones were also painted for the Chargers. Fans said this year feels like a clear break from those past cases, and they were not happy with the change.

The NFL later explained that for all international games starting this season, each team will now have its own logo in one end zone. A league spokesperson said this is meant as a “fun element” to make the games feel like a special event for fans watching worldwide.
The NFL also stressed that the “home” team will still control most of the stadium look and game-day experience. Also Read: Rock Band Foreigner Makes Daring Move With Offer To Perform At Taylor Swift And Travis Kelce WeddingMeanwhile, Travis Kelce shared his thoughts on his “New Heights” podcast. He said the Chiefs are staying two hours away from the stadium and will need a long bus ride on game day. “It is what it is. We were dealt a hand and we gotta play it,” Travis Kelce said. “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to go down to Brazil.”The NFL has also worked on improving the grass at Arena Corinthians after last year’s complaints. New stitched turf, first used during the 2014 World Cup, has been added to keep the field stronger and safer.
