Dulquer Salmaan calls being Mammootty’s son a blessing, not burden; says 'It’s definitely an advantage'

As 'Kaantha' gears up for its theatrical release on November 14, 2025, actor Dulquer Salmaan is opening up about the realities of being a “nepo kid” and the privilege that comes with being the son of legendary actor Mammootty.In a candid interview with Behindwoods, Dulquer admitted that coming from a film family has undeniably benefited him. “It is definitely an advantage. I do not think it is fair to ever say it is a disadvantage,” Dulquer said. “Sometimes, we might feel a little targeted or something. But I think anyone who reaches a certain level of fame or success will become targeted. I do not think we should say it is a struggle or a disadvantage.”

Dulquer Salmaan's past comments on nepotism

Earlier during the promotion for 'Chup', Dulquer Salmaan shared his views on nepotism. He said, "I was just 10 years old when I got picked for my first role. It had nothing to do with my dad. It was definitely not a nepotism advantage."
