Dwight Howard made headlines again this week, but this time it was not about basketball. The former NBA star called 911 from his home in Georgia after saying a woman had taken several of his personal items, including jewelry and his wedding ring, and left in a gray Camaro.
The call reportedly happened on March 7, only days before Dwight Howard filed for divorce from his wife Amber Howard. Audio of the call later surfaced online. As details slowly came out, the incident added another layer to what has already been a very tense and public situation in Dwight Howard’s personal life.
Dwight Howard tells dispatcher a woman left his Georgia home with jewelry and wedding ring
According to a report from TMZ, Dwight Howard contacted emergency services and told the dispatcher that a woman had left his Georgia property with several items that belonged to him.
Those items reportedly included jewelry, his wedding ring, and even his phone. During the call, Dwight Howard explained that the woman had already driven away from the house in a gray Camaro. He also told the dispatcher that he was not currently at the home because he had stepped out to pick up his child.The dispatcher informed Dwight Howard that a police officer would later contact him so he could file a formal report about the situation.
At the moment, the full list of the items that were taken has not been publicly released. Authorities have also not confirmed if any charges will follow. Still, the incident quickly drew attention online because it happened during a very difficult time in Dwight Howard’s personal life.
