Dwyane Wade explains why Los Angeles Lakers will not let LeBron James go
Of late, the rumor mill extensively suggested that the Los Angeles Lakers are set to build a young core with Luka Doncic leading the team. It would change the momentum of and the very roster previously led by LeBron James. As James exercised his player option card, speculation soon was in the air suggesting that Lakers will part ways with the NBA legend. However, Dwyane Wade believes that would be far from reality. In a recent Wy Network by Dwyane Wade episode, the Miami Heat legend shared his honest take on the matter of his former teammate.“They ain’t got nothing else to talk about, man. Bron is always goin’ to be a story for media. And not saying this is bad at all, Because, you know, if you know how to use the media, it’s good. It can work for you. But at the end of the day, come on, man, The Lakers just sold for $10 billion dollars.
They ain’t sell for $10 billion for LeBron James not to be there,” Wade said.
NBA fans will not deny the fact that James is one of the most popular stars in the league with astonishing face value, and through the lens of Wade, Lakers not parting ways with James, is justified.
LeBron James trade rumors heat up as Lakers weigh future around Luka Doncic
Trade rumors around LeBron James have picked up steam, especially after his agent Rich Paul released a statement suggesting James isn’t thrilled with the Los Angeles Lakers’ current direction.
Though James opted into his player option, the move hasn’t silenced speculation. Many now believe the franchise is focused more on building around Luka Doncic, a shift that may not sit well with the 40-year-old star. Despite all the noise, James has stayed quiet publicly and hasn’t asked for a trade. The Miami Heat have surfaced as a possible destination, with Bleacher Report floating a scenario that includes both LeBron and Bronny James.
In exchange, the Lakers would land Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, and two first-round picks. While Rozier’s ongoing legal issues raise concerns, the draft picks and Wiggins’ defensive skills could help reshape the Lakers’ roster if they decide to build around Doncic. Still, LeBron’s hefty contract and no-trade clause make any deal complicated. Also Read: LeBron James cosigns Tyler, the Creator's surprise album Don't Tap the Glass in an unexpected moveFor now, James remains on the Lakers’ roster and was even seen courtside at Summer League.
