Jhansi: Displaying exemplary honesty, an e-rickshaw driver returned a bag full of jewellery to a passenger who had accidentally left it behind after alighting. The bag was handed over on Tuesday in the presence of SSP Jhansi BBGTS Murthy, who felicitated the driver for his integrity.In a grand expresion of honesty, a e-rikshaw driver took pains and returned a bag full of jewellery to a passenger who forgot it behind before alighting from his auto. The bag was returned here on Tuesday in the presence of SSP Jhansi BBGTS Murthy who in return felicitated the driver for his honesty.According to reports, a woman, who was returning home from her parental house on Monday, took an e-rickshaw for Sipri Bazar.

While leaving the vehicle, she, in a haste, forgot her bag which contained jewellery worth Rs 13 lakh. The vehicle owner Dharampal Ahirwar (35) realised the presence of the bag after sometime and could guess of some valuables. Dharampal imediately went to the spot where he had dropped the passenger hoping to find her but could not trace anyone.

He immediately went back to the spot where he had dropped the passenger, hoping to trace her, but was unable to find anyone there. Clueless, Dharampal then contacted his village head in Datiya district Prahallad Yadav and through him contacted Sipri Bazar police.Meanwhile, the woman along with her husband also approached the police to trace her bag. On Tuesday both the parties were called at the SSP office where Dharampal handed over the bag to the woman. On the other hand the SSP felicitated the driver with a certificate and cash award. "The driver has shown a big example of honesty which should beapreciated. I appeal to everyone to show similar honesty during such situations," he added.
