Jalen Hurts scored two rushing touchdowns and led the Philadelphia Eagles to a 24-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, September 4, 2025, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Despite harsh weather and an on-field controversy, Hurts kept his team steady with smart plays and calm energy. The game had a lightning delay of nearly an hour and started with a shocking incident, Eagles defensive tackle Jalen Carter was ejected just seconds after kickoff for spitting at Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. With quick action from Hurts and support from Saquon Barkley, the Eagles held on for a tense but well-earned victory.

Jalen Carter was tossed from the game just six seconds after the opening kickoff for spitting on Dak Prescott. That led to a 15-yard penalty, and the Cowboys turned it into a 1-yard touchdown run by Javonte Williams.

But Jalen Hurts answered right away. On Philadelphia’s first chance, he sprinted in for a 4-yard touchdown, making it 7-7 quickly. Saquon Barkley added another touchdown late in the second quarter. So by halftime, the Eagles led 21-20. Hurts finished the first half with 152 passing yards and 62 rushing yards, scoring twice with his legs and keeping the ball safe.
