EaseMyTrip co-founder Nishant Pitti announced that the travel platform will not be associated with the upcoming India vs Pakistan semi-final match in the World Championship of Legends (WCL), noting that “terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand."

Pitti said that his platform “stands with India" and criticised any event that he believes attempts to normalise relations with “a country that promotes terrorism."

The decision to withdraw from the match sponsorship, he said, was guided by public sentiment. “The people of India have spoken and we hear them," he noted.

“We applaud Team India for their outstanding performance in the World Championship of Legends," Pitti wrote on social media, referring to the Indian squad of former cricketing legends that has performed impressively in the tournament.

“However, the upcoming semi-final against Pakistan is not just another game, Terror and cricket cannot go hand in hand. @EaseMyTrip, we stand with India. We cannot support any event that attempts to normalise relations with a country that promotes terrorism."

He concluded the statement with a message: “Some things are bigger than sport. Nation first, business later. Always."

As the World Championship of Legends (WCL) enters its final stages, India Champions have secured a semi-final spot with a five-wicket win over West Indies Champions in their last group match on Tuesday.

However, questions now surround their participation in the upcoming semi-final — a high-stakes fixture scheduled against arch-rivals Pakistan.

India had previously declined to play against Pakistan during the league stage, citing national sentiment following a terror attack earlier this year.

While their on-field performance has carried them through to the knockout stage, it remains unclear whether the India-Pakistan match will take place in the knockout stage.

Tournament organisers have yet to issue an official statement regarding the fixture.
