The Enforcement Directorate carried out raids on the premises linked to Karnataka Congress MLA K.C. Veerendra and others in connection with an online gaming and betting linked PMLA case, according to official sources.

The action is being undertaken under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The MLA is believed to have stakes in casino businesses in Goa.

Mr. Veerendra represents Chitradurga constituency in the Karnataka Assembly. He is the son-in-law of Kannada film actor Doddanna. He is considered close to Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
