Ed Sheeran is not 'permanently' moving to the USA
In a recent appearance on The 2 Johnnies podcast, Sheeran opened up about his potential to pack his bags and take the flight to the United States. “I feel like I might be the only person moving to America,” he continued, referring to the growing trend of celebrities moving out of the country. “I'm going on tour there for a while, and I have a family, so I can't dip in and out. We're going and settling there,” he added.As a mass response, many fans presumed that he would be permanently making a change.
The ‘Sapphire’ singer had to dismiss the confusion and wrote a message on his Instagram stories. “Way easier to clear up stuff on here so here’s me setting the record straight, coz there’s deffo a narrative press are trying to push that people wanna move out of the UK for some reason,” he wrote, before adding, “I’m not moving, I’m going on tour with my family and relocating to the continent I’m touring on, don’t wanna commute from London to San Diego obvz.
”Some figured that he would be changing the nations for ‘taxation’ purposes, to which he quipped that it’s the USA and not the UAE. “[I’ll] always pay tax in UK because that’s where I live,” he added, according to Billboard.
