Wondering whether Prime Minister Modi understood the value of a pinch of sindoor, Congress MP from Telangana Renuka Chowdhury questioned why the 26 victims of the Pahalgam terror attack were not mentioned in his hour-and-a-half-long speech in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
Renuka Chowdhury calls Narendra Modi government insensitive
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury on Wednesday quoted a line from the 2007 Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Om Shanti Om to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the ongoing debate on Operation Sindoor, saying, "Ek chutki sindoor ki keemat tum kya jaano, Narendra babu."
The Congress MP from Telangana wondered why the 26 victims of the Pahalgam terror attack were not mentioned in PM Modi's hour-and-a-half-long speech in Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
"One thing that hurt me the most was that the PM made no mention of those 26 people. Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi mentioned the names of the 26 victims—I thank them for that. I was expecting the Prime Minister to mention those 26 people, but he didn't," she said.
Wondering whether PM Modi understood the value of a pinch of sindoor, Renuka Chowdhury said, "The PM recently visited eight different nations, but he did not get the time to go and meet victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. He won't meet them. He won't even mention them."
Calling the Narendra Modi government insensitive, Renuka Chowdhury asked what happened to the Centre's "political will" when it came to terror attacks in Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Uri, and others.
