Elden Ring Nightreign weaves some deep character tales into the game’s roguelike structure, and one compelling one is the Recluse Remembrance Quest. It allows the players to dive deep into the tragic past of enigmatic Recluse.
While she searches for her lost child, the players get a chance to uncover her ties with the mysterious Witch of the Wheel and the Nightlord. Progress demands the recovery of memory fragments through expeditions, unlocking the journal entries that reveal Recluse’s haunting story.
How to start Recluse Remembrance Quest?
To begin, play multiple expeditions using the Recluse class until you receive the notification stating, Memory Fragment Recovered. Then, click her journal (accessible at the Roundtable Hold), and the new chapters will unlock as you gather the fragments.
First Elden Ring Recluse Remembrance is available in Chapter 2 and is followed by 2 more, available in Chapters 4 and 6. To complete all the 3 will lead you to the unique ending.

Pro Tip: Check her journal on a regular basis for the new prompts.As you unlock Chapter 2, head right to the Waiting Room and speak with Iron Menial. He will question the loyalty of Recluse and will task her to slay the Night-Tainted Golden Hippopotamus (appears as a red dot on the map) within an expedition.
As you defeat it, you will retrieve the Night Shard. Then, return back to Iron Menials. Exhaust the dialogues and request a favor to conclude the phase. Receive Recluse’s Chalice.
It will enhance her relic loadout.
Unravel Recluse past in Chapter 4
As Chapter 4 gets unlocked, ensure to revisit Iron Menial. He can now be found near Small Jar Bazaar. He will return you Shard of Night, prompting you to inspect the glowing mark on Roundtable Hold’s bed. Venture to sleeping quarters and past journal areas.
Examine a peculiar glowing mark on a bed. Interacting with it will grant you Vestige of Night, the relic that boosts the magic attacks.Iron Menial will seem intrigued by the markings and will vow to study engraving to conclude the Remembrance. It grants you a Vestige of Night relic that can create Terra Magica when it absorbs the affinity residue, making it important for magic-focused builds.

As you unlock Chapter 6, the Recluse journal will reveal that Witch of the Wheel (Recluse’s believed-to-be-dead-companion) is alive.
Head right to the training ground, where the sword is sharpened by Iron Menial. Attack the imposter to expose the Witch, and she will explain her survival tale. As you ask about Iron Menial’s whereabouts, you learn she hides the real Iron Menial in Crypt right beneath Roundtable Hold.Find the door behind the stairs near Visual Codex. Inside the crypt, interact with captive Iron Menial. Free Iron Menial by recalibrating Magic Root.
He will reward you with the Bone-Like Stone. The relic can boost the attack power, intelligence, and HP. But it inflicts blood loss when using Recluse Ultimate Art.
Achieve the secret ending of Recluse
As you finish all the Remembrances, defeat Nightlord in the Night Aspect expedition. Do not proceed to Two Fingers' corpse or deliver Primordial Nightlord’s Rune. Instead, visit the bed where you received the Vestige of Night. The shadowy child awaits you. Comfort the child and trigger a secret ending.Return for the final encounter with Witch of the Wheel, post-credit, and unlock Recluse’s Remembrance Outfit. It will conclude her tragic tale, seamlessly blending Elden Ring character lore and the gameplay.
