Telegram CEO Pavel Durov

recently shared a post on Twitter, stating that the company has partnered with Elon Musk-owned

xAI

to bring

Grok

to the messaging app. In the post, Durov further claimed that Telegram will receive $300 million in cash and equity from Musk’s AI company. Refuting such a deal, Musk has replied to Telegram CEO’s post writing “No deal has been signed”.

What Telegram CEO said about deal with Elon Musk’s company

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Durov wrote:

“This summer, Telegram users will gain access to the best AI technology on the market. @elonmusk and I have agreed to a 1-year partnership to bring xAI’s @grok to our billion+ users and integrate it across all Telegram apps”.“This also strengthens Telegram’s financial position: we will receive $300M in cash and equity from xAI, plus 50% of the revenue from xAI subscriptions sold via Telegram. Together, we win,” he added. Musk responded to his post, saying “No deal has been signed”. Telegram's CEO later agreed with Musk, saying “True. Agreed in principle, but formalities are pending.”

The deal is likely to get official in the future. Once formalized, it will allow billions of Telegram users to use Grok’s AI features directly within the app. The partnership comes as xAI looks to expand Grok beyond Musk’s social media platform X, aiming to reach more users and grow its business.
