Tensions between Elon Musk and Donald Trump have turned into a major political fight. In a post on microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk has claimed that President Donald Trump wouldn’t have won the
2024 election
without his support. Replying to an X user who shared a clip of Trump saying, “I would have won Pennsylvania regardless of Elon,” Musk responded:“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate.” “Such ingratitude”, he added.
This comes after Musk strongly criticised Trump’s key economic plan—called the “One Big Beautiful Bill”—calling it a “disgusting abomination.” The two, once seen as allies, now seem to be falling out in a very public way.
Donald Trump says he is disappointed with Elon Musk
“I'm very disappointed with Elon. I've helped him a lot. He knew the inner workings of the bill better than anybody sitting here. He had no problem with it. All of a sudden he had a problem & he only developed the problem when he found out we're going to cut EV mandate,” Trump said in the Oval office today. Trump says “don’t know” if he and Musk will have a good relationship anymoreDuring the press briefing, Trump said “Look, Elon and I had a great relationship. I don't know if we will anymore. I was surprised”.“He hasn’t said bad about me personally, but I’m sure that’ll be next,” he further added.According to an AP report, Trump suggested the tech mogul misses being in the White House, calling it “Trump derangement syndrome". “He’s not the first. People leave my administration and they love us and then at some point they miss it so badly, and some of them embrace it and some of them actually become hostile. I don’t know what it is, it’s sort of
Trump derangement syndrome
, I guess they call it. … The glamor is gone, the whole world is different, and they become hostile,” Trump said.
