Enforcement squad seizes 103 kg of banned plastic

The district enforcement squad of the Local Self-Government department has seized 103 kg of banned plastic products from Bharanikavu grama panchayat.

The squad has recommended imposing a fine of ₹15,000 on two establishments for violations. Out of 12 establishments inspected, notices have been issued to seven. The inspections were carried out on Tuesday.

Officials said that inspections would be intensified in the coming days. Joint block development officer K.B. Ajayakumar, Suchitwa Mission resource person P. Aswathy, Bharanikavu grama panchayat health inspector Shobi, Pollution Control Board Akhil and others were part of the squad.
