Engineering student stabbed to death by friend

A 20-year-old engineering student was stabbed to death by his friend allegedly for exposing a theft. The deceased Rahul G. D. was a fifth semester Computer Science engineering student at a private college.

Rahul was friends with Preetham, 19, who works as an office boy at a private firm. The duo used to visit each other’s houses regularly. Preetam’s mother Leela lost her gold chain and when she asked her son, he reportedly pointed fingers at Rahul. However, Rahul reported to Leela that he saw the gold chain in Preetam’s bag and that he had allegedly stolen it to buy a bike. Enraged by this, Preetham had a heated argument with Rahul and stabbed him multiple times with a cutter in a fit of rage and fled the scene.

Passers-by found Rahul bleeding with multiple injuries, and rushed him to a nearby private hospital where he succumbed later. Based on a complaint, the Konanakunte police have registered a case of murder and arrested Preetham for further questioning.
