The sleuths of EAGLE Telangana and Gachibowli police of Cyberabad busted a drug-fuelled party in Kondapur, arresting six people including two drug peddlers, a transporter, and three consumers, while seizing cocaine, ecstasy pills, and MDMA.
The raid was carried out at Rajeshwari Nilayam Service Apartment, Kondapur, based on credible information.
Madhapur DCP G. Vineeth said that the officers have recovered 20 grams of cocaine, 8 ecstasy pills weighing 20 grams and 3 grams of MDMA from the spot.
Those arrested were identified as Teja, 28, who runs a cloud kitchen at Pragathi Nagar; Vikram, a poultry farm businessman from East Godavari; Manne Neelima, 41, a homemaker from Narsingi; Chandhan, 20, an engineering student from Bangalore who acted as a transporter; Purshotham Reddy, 36, a wine shop businessman from Kondapur; and Bhargav, 31, a software engineer from Serilingampally.
The key supplier has been identified as Rahul alias Sonu from Bangalore, who is currently absconding.
“Teja, the kingpin of the racket, procures cocaine from Rahul and organises regular parties at rented apartments in Hyderabad. The money for drugs was pooled in by consumers and transferred to multiple accounts provided by Rahul,” said the officer.
He added that drugs were also smuggled concealed in skin-whitening injection boxes, ordered by Teja through Rahul at cheaper rates from Bangalore.
“Vikram, one of the arrested peddlers, has a history of narcotics cases. In January 2024, he was caught with 12 grams of cocaine at Idalwai Toll Plaza in Nizamabad district while returning from Delhi, in a case linked to Nigerian suppliers Mike and Rahul. He was earlier sent to jail in connection with that case,” added the officer.
Tests conducted after the Kondapur raid revealed that Neelima had consumed three types of drugs, Teja five, while the other consumers tested positive for one type each. Transporter Chandhan tested negative.
The DCP said Teja and Neelima were first introduced to cocaine during a rave party in Goa on New Year’s Eve 2023, and since then became regular users along with Vikram.
They frequently gathered at apartments and farmhouses in Hyderabad and Rajahmundry for drug-fuelled sessions.
The official said that the arrests highlight how rave parties and service apartments are increasingly being used as hubs for drug peddling and consumption in the city. Efforts are on to trace Rahul and other members of the network.
