US President Donald Trump said Israel will no longer be allowed to carry out military strikes in Lebanon, announcing the position in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. In his message, Trump also referred to a broader arrangement involving US military operations and regional security, including claims about nuclear-related materials and the role of American bombers.

Trump wrote that the United States would handle certain materials linked to nuclear activity “without any payment" and separately work with Lebanon on what he described as addressing the Hezbollah situation. He said Israel’s actions in Lebanon were being restricted by Washington, asserting that Israeli forces were “PROHIBITED" from bombing the country.
“This deal is in no way subject to Lebanon, either, but the USA will, separately, work with Lebanon, and deal with the Hezboolah situation in an appropriate manner. Israel will not be bombing Lebanon any longer. They are PROHIBITED from doing so by the U.S.A. Enough is enough," Trump said.
His remarks came alongside the announcement of a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon aimed at allowing negotiations for a longer-term security arrangement.

The truce, announced by Trump on Thursday, follows six weeks of intense fighting between Israel and the Iran-backed Lebanese group Hezbollah. The conflict has killed at least 2,196 people in Lebanon and displaced more than one million.
The US State Department said under the terms of the agreement Israel will retain the right to take “all necessary measures in self-defence," while refraining from “offensive military operations." It also said this right could be exercised “at any time" in response to planned or ongoing attacks.
Trump described the ceasefire as a “historic day" and urged restraint from all sides during the 10-day period.
“I hope Hezbollah acts nicely and well during this important period of time. It will be an GREAT moment for them if they do," he said, adding, “No more killing. Must finally have PEACE!"
Hezbollah has not been part of the direct negotiations, which were held between Israeli and Lebanese officials in Washington earlier this week. The group has said it will approach the ceasefire with “caution and vigilance," warning that any Israeli strikes during the truce would be seen as violations.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the agreement could open the door to a wider deal with Beirut, while reiterating that Israel’s key demand remains the disarmament of Hezbollah.
