‘Entrepreneurship is key to economic growth and job creation’

MLC and president of Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society (HKES) Shashil G. Namoshi highlighted the role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth while speaking at the inauguration of an innovation outreach programme organised at the PDA Engineering College in Kalaburagi on Thursday.

“Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in driving economic growth, job creation, innovation, and overall social development,” he said.

The event was organised under the joint aegis of the PDA Engineering College, Department of IT & BT and the Department of Science and Technology.

“Entrepreneurship helps in bringing new ideas to life, introducing innovative products to the market, strengthening the economy and raising the standard of living for people,” Mr. Namoshi said.

He expressed gratitude to Priynak Kharge, the Minister for IT & BT and Kalaburagi District In-charge, for supporting the collaboration between the State’s IT & BT Department, Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and PDA College, which he said would immensely benefit the students.

Delivering a special address, Jai Krishna Ramesh, Manager (Marketing and Outreach), Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society, said that the Innovation Outreach Programme was aimed at spreading awareness on entrepreneurship and innovation among students and youth.

“Through workshops, guest lectures and creative challenges, the programme seeks to nurture problem-solving skills and inspire young minds to convert their ideas into successful ventures,” he said.

Chandrakant Chandapur, Manager, KSFIC Kalaburagi branch, highlighted various government schemes available for entrepreneurs.

KDEM project manager Sanjay G.S., PDA College principal S.R. Patil, vice-principals S.R. Hotte and Bharati Harasur, Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Sharanu Pappa, and programme coordinators Parameshwar Biradar and Nagesh Salimath were present.
