Door-to-door distribution of enumeration forms by booth level officers under Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls would begin in Cuddalore district from November 4, said District Election Officer and Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar.

The SIR seeks to ensure accuracy of the electoral rolls by identifying the names of absent, shifted, deceased voters or duplicate names and collect details of newly eligible electors. The exercise would be carried out with January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date and all those who attain the age of 18 on the day can apply for inclusion of names in the electoral rolls.

The enumeration under the current SIR would be carried out from November 4 to December 4. Chairing a meeting at the Collectorate on Saturday (November 1, 2025), the Collector said that the filled-in and signed applications should be submitted by the residents to the Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The residents need not enclose any documents with it then.

If the voters’ names were found in the 2002 voter list, the details should be mentioned in the enumeration forms. The Enumeration Forms, printed in Tamil, would have the names of the existing voters and the old photo. Any adult member of the family can fill the details in the form, including date of birth and mobile number. They would have to affix the latest colour photograph in the forms. The BLOs will help the voters in filling the forms.

Those persons whose names have not been included in the voter list and those who have shifted their residences should submit relevant application forms like Form 6, Form 8 A and Form 8 B.

The BLOs will decide on them based on an inquiry. Notices will be issued to voters if they have not provided the required information or provided wrong information.

Only those voters who were issued notices will be required to submit any of the 13 documents specified by the Election Commission of India (ECI). The BLOs concerned will pass orders after verification/inquiry. Scrutiny of application forms and the enumeration forms would be done till January 31.

A draft voter list would be published on December 9 based on all the applications submitted by the residents. and the final voter list would be released on February 7, the Collector said.
