Most strikers dream of scoring at Wembley. But for Jamie Cureton, finding the net for Kings Park Rangers in the 10th tier of English football was just as special.
When the 50-year-old joined the Eastern Counties League Division One North side earlier this month, he didn’t realise he was one goal away from completing a remarkable full set: scoring in all of the top 10 levels of English football.
That moment came on Saturday, as Cureton came off the bench to slot home the fourth goal in a 4-1 win over Dussindale & Hellesdon Rovers.
“I could have been at Wembley, anywhere. I’d have celebrated exactly the same," Cureton told BBC Sport. “It was a great feeling."

The goal adds another chapter to a 32-season career that’s taken Cureton everywhere from Bristol Rovers and Norwich City to a stint in South Korea with Busan I’Cons.
He’s played under the likes of Alan Pardew, Martin O’Neill, and Ian Holloway, earned promotions with Reading and QPR, and even won the Championship Golden Boot with Colchester United.
His new teammates at Kings Park Rangers were desperate to see him complete the feat. After grabbing an assist on debut, Cureton’s goal finally arrived last weekend — prompting the club to post on X.
After years as a player-manager, Cureton says he joined the Suffolk club “to get out of the pressure cooker and just have fun."
And he’s not done yet.
“I’m still about four or five goals away from 400," he smiled. “So that’s one I’d like to chase."
