The Prohibition and Excise (P&E) police questioned former Minister and YSRCP leader Jogi Ramesh and two others who were arrested in the alleged spurious liquor racket for eight hours on Sunday.
Mr. Ramesh, his brother Jogi Ramu, and former Minister’s assistant Arepalli Ramu were grilled for their involvement in the case.
The police were said to have questioned Mr. Ramesh on his alleged links with Addepalli Janardhana Rao and his brother Addepalli Jaganmohan Rao, who had been arrested in the case earlier.
Investigation officers were said to have asked Mr. Ramesh since how long he had been in touch with Mr. Janardhana Rao, the financial deals, and how they planned to manufacture and sell spurious liquor.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ramesh alleged that his name was falsely implicated in the case, and said that he or his family had no role in the racket.
“The government has built the case against me with political vendetta, and the arrest is illegal. I will fight legally,” Mr. Ramesh said.
