Exclusive - Itti Si Khushi actress Sumbul Touqeer says, “My Father Is My Teacher”

Sumbul Touqeer, one of television’s most loved young stars, never misses a chance to express her gratitude towards her father. For her, he has been more than just a parent; he has been a mentor and a guiding force in every phase of life.“My father is my teacher. He has taught me and Saniya both about everything in life. From discipline and hard work to kindness and patience, every value we follow today comes from him,” Sumbul shared. The actress, who began her journey in the entertainment industry at a very young age, said her father has always been her strongest support system. “From auditions to rejections, from long shoot days to personal challenges he has always been with us.

He never let us feel like we were alone, and his guidance has shaped both me and Saniya into who we are today.”Sumbul further revealed the lesson she holds closest to her heart: “One thing my father always reminds us is to stay grounded, no matter how much success comes our way. He believes humility is what keeps you going, and I try to live by that every day.”For Sumbul, her father continues to be her biggest inspiration. “He isn’t just our parent, he’s our mentor, our friend, and the reason we are able to dream fearlessly.

Whatever I achieve, I know it will always make him proud and that’s my biggest reward,” she said with pride.Coming back to her new show, Sumbul is thrilled to play a relatable character. Playing the role of Anvita Diwekar, Sumbul’s character in Itti Si Khushi is all about resilience, warmth, and a quiet sense of responsibility. In the show, Anvita steps into the role of a primary caregiver for her younger siblings after the untimely loss of their mother and an alcoholic father. She recently shared in an interview, “When I heard the show for the first time, it was relatable, but not too much. There was a time when I was staying with my sister, I was 15-16 years old. I was doing Imlie at that time. I was handling her studies and her food. So, I used to make sure that things fall in place, and work also goes off well. So, I felt that was relatable,” she says.
