Held under the theme “Empowered by Technology. Driven by Reform”, the exercise aims to validate operational synergy across land, air, sea, and digital domains.

The exercise forms a key component of the ongoing Tri-Services Exercise Trishul, which brings together the Army, Navy, and Air Force to validate joint planning and execution of operations.

Troops of the Shahbaaz Division, under the Sudarshan Chakra Corps of the Southern Command, carried out high-intensity integrated manoeuvres in the deserts of Rajasthan as part of Exercise Maru Jwala under the ongoing Tri-Services Exercise Trishul.

The visuals from the exercise showcased armoured and mechanised defence forces’ personnel executing coordinated movements across desert terrain, supported by artillery and aerial assets, in realistic battlefield conditions.

Exercise Maru Jwala focuses on joint planning, coordination, and execution of combat operations in a network-centric environment, highlighting the military’s preparedness to respond effectively to emerging security challenges in varied terrains.

According to the Army, the drills focus on the employment of niche technologies, unmanned platforms, and networked fires to enhance combat integration and situational awareness.

The ongoing drills underscore India’s emphasis on maintaining high levels of combat readiness and inter-service cooperation to meet future operational requirements.

What Is Trishul?

The Indian Armed Forces’ joint exercise, Exercise Trishul, brings together the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force in a large-scale, multi-domain wargame expanding from the Arabian Sea to the skies above. This is the first exercise of its kind post-operation Sindoor, which will go on from November 3 to November 13.

As per top defence sources, India’s indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, along with its entire Carrier Battle Group (CBG), will be present for operations during the exercise. The Indian Navy, which is the lead agency for Exercise Trishul this year, will deploy nearly 20-25 warships, including INS Jalashwa, an amphibious transport dock, to undertake diverse maritime missions along the western seaboard.

The Indian Air Force will field around 40 high-performance fighter jets, including Rafales and Su-30 MKIs, supported by force enablers for coordinated strikes and air defence missions. On the ground, over 25,000 Indian Army personnel from two corps will participate and engage, with indigenous platforms and weapon systems being put to the test in realistic battlefield scenarios.
