Explore the Rich Diversity of Traditional Indian Art at the National Folk Art Exhibition ‘Loka 2025’ in Ranchi

Ranchi: National Folk Art Exhibition ‘Loka 2025’ brought all art lovers together through display of a diverse collection of over 115 artworks representing 22 traditional art forms from 11 states across India, along with two special exhibits from Nepal.

The exhibition was inaugurated on Friday evening at the Audrey House.The six-day exhibition, which will continue until October 15, was organised by the department of art, culture, sports and youth affairs, govt of Jharkhand, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Patna, and the Folkartopedia Foundation, Patna.The exhibition was inaugurated by Asif Akram, director, department of art, culture, sports and youth affairs.Speaking on the occasion, he said, “It is a matter of pride that art pieces from across the country have come together under one roof. For the first time, visitors are getting the opportunity to view the works of three Padma Shri awardees along with several national and state-recognised artists.”The exhibition showcased celebrated folk art forms including Khovar-Sohrai, Patkar, Jadopatia, Mithila, Godna, Bhojpuri, Sanjhi, Gond, Warli, Saura, Chittara, and Surpur line art, among others. Curator and Folkartopedia Foundation director Sunil Kumar, said, “The exhibition has been organised to revive, preserve, and promote folk and tribal art traditions across India. Alongside the exhibition, workshops and art talk sessions will also be held to deepen engagement and understanding of these art forms.
