The ExtraEmily viewbotting controversy has witnessed a dramatic new turn, and the spotlight has shifted from the streamer to the moderators of Reddit's r/LivestreamFail. Essentially, one of the moderators has now been removed from the team amid allegations that they deliberately removed all the discussion from the subreddit to protect her.

What initially started as a viral clip has now turned into a full-blown scandal about moderation bias and conflicts of interest. This adds a lot of spice to the existing ExtraEmily viewbotting controversy.

ExtraEmily viewbotting drama escalates with LSF moderator ban

A public statement was posted on the r/LivestreamFail subreddit, wherein the LSF mod team said the original ExtraEmily thread was removed after one of the moderators stated the Viewbot.ai site was a pop-up from the 67speed website.

Multiple members of the team subsequently tried to achieve the same pop-up on different browsers, in incognito mode, and on mobile devices, but were unable to do so.The statement further specified that it became apparent that the said moderator lied and fabricated the pop-up claim to protect ExtraEmily. This is because the moderator was an "avid Extra Emily clipper, poster, and a very active member of her community and Discord," which led to an unacceptable conflict of interest.

In the replies, a user named u/The_AMD_Guy pointed to the moderator's Twitch chat logs. Essentially, he had 6,464 messages in the streamer’s chat since the beginning of April alone. The particular figure led to a wild reaction from the members of the subreddit, with one of the users stating: "BRO WHAT. THAT'S 380 F***ING MESSAGES PER DAY." There were loads of other jokes and conversations regarding the incident. This seemed like an unfortunate situation, where the moderator of the community showed biased support towards ExtraEmily after her viewbotting incident. At the end of the post, LSF's mod team announced the moderator had been removed.
