Fair probe, ex-gratia sought into school student’s death

Days after a student of the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society school collapsed and died, politicians demanded a fair probe and compensation.

Rizwan, a 14-year old student, allegedly collapsed in TGMREIS-run Yakutpura Boys - 2 school soon after study session on Saturday. He later died on the way to a hospital, sources said.

Majlis Bachao Tehreek spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan demanded a thorough probe into the matter.

Yakutpura legislator Jafar Hussain Meraj met B Shafiullah, Secretary, Minorities Welfare, and sough compensation of ₹25 lakh for Rizwan’s kin.

Meanwhile, sources in the TGMREIS said that they do not suspect any foul play. However, they pointed out that a post mortem report is awaited, and more details would emerge soon.
