Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday sounded the poll bugle in Bihar by launching a sharp attack on the Congress-RJD alliance in the state. Kickstarting the BJP’s campaign in Bihar, PM Modi called the upcoming elections a choice between development and “jungle raj". Addressing a rally in Karakat in Rohtas district, PM Modi also accused opposition parties of exploiting the people in the name of social justice.
“People who have looted the people of Bihar, today they are spreading lies to come back in power," Modi said, calling out what he termed decades of neglect under previous regimes. He said that the poorest – Dalits, tribals, and OBCs – were deprived of basic dignity.
“Dalits, tribals and OBCs didn’t even have toilets, no bank accounts, and entry was also banned for them. They didn’t even have pucca houses… Is this the social justice of Congress and RJD," he asked, drawing loud support from the audience.
PM Modi reminded the crowd of Bihar’s past under earlier governments. “The previous governments looted the people of Bihar," he said, warning voters not to fall for the same trap again. “You need to be aware of this jungle raj," PM Modi said, remininding people of years of lawlessness and poor governance in Bihar in the past.
Contrasting his administration’s track record, the Prime Minister pointed to major development achievements in the state. “In the past years, we have worked on electricity generation," he noted, highlighting infrastructure growth under the NDA rule.
Operation Sindoor: PM Modi Hails ‘New India’s Strength’
Tying national security into his address, PM Modi also spoke on Operation Sindoor, India’s recent cross-border strike on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. Recalling his promise made during a previous visit to Bihar, the Prime Minister said, “’Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye’ – I had vowed on April 24 that we will destroy the terrorist hideouts, and we have fulfilled that promise."
Referring to Operation Sindoor, he said, “Those who came to wipe off sindoor… we turned them to dust."
PM Modi also emphasised the speed and power of Indian forces, saying, “Our forces in one go made them come to their knees. Pakistan airbases and terror camps were destroyed in just a few minutes."
Praising the Border Security Force (BSF), he added, “The world has seen the might and strength of our BSF in Operation Sindoor. The safety of Maa Bharti is the top priority for our forces."
“This is a new India. Yeh naye Bharat ki takat hai," PM Modi added, reinforcing the message that under his leadership, India is both assertive and secure.
