On why no FIR had been filed against Parth Pawar, Sharad Pawar remarked, “Only Devendra Fadnavis can say.”

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) patriarch Sharad Pawar distanced himself from the controversy surrounding grandson Parth Pawar, who is facing allegations of irregularities in a high-value Pune land deal. Responding to questions on the case, Sharad Pawar said family and politics must be viewed separately, adding that comments made by his daughter and MP Supriya Sule reflected “her individual view."
“Family and politics are different for me," Sharad Pawar said.
When asked about Supriya Sule’s remarks on the issue, he said, “What Supriya said is her individual view."
On why no FIR had been filed against Parth Pawar, he remarked, “Only Devendra Fadnavis can say."
Probe Ordered Into Pune Land Transaction
The comments came a day after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordered an inquiry committee to investigate allegations of corruption and procedural violations in a Pune land transaction involving Amedea Enterprises LLP, a company linked to Parth Pawar, son of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The land deal, first flagged in 2022, concerns a 40-acre plot in Mundhwa near Koregaon Park valued at around ₹1,800 crore. Opposition parties allege the plot was sold for just ₹300 crore and that the transaction involved an improper stamp duty waiver worth ₹21 crore. The probe will examine whether statutory procedures were followed and if political influence played a role.
Ajit Pawar Denies Any Involvement
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar dismissed accusations of wrongdoing and emphasised that he had no connection to the land transfer.
“I am not even remotely connected to this land deal. I will not tolerate any wrongdoing. I will analyse the details of the case personally," he said, adding that he had “never called any officer to benefit any of our relatives or party workers," and asserted that grown children conduct their own business independently.
Parth Pawar Rejects Allegations
Parth Pawar, a partner in Amedea Enterprises LLP, has also denied the allegations. He maintains that the transaction adhered to all legal requirements and insisted he “did nothing wrong."
