Veteran WWE superstar Paige's return at WrestleMania 42 delivered the kind of jolt fans felt across the arena the moment the music hit. WrestleMania weekend often promises surprises, but few expected this one.
Inside Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Paige stepped back into the spotlight, not just for a cameo, but to compete. The reaction was instant and loud.It all came together quickly. The Bella Twins were set for a high-stakes fatal four-way match, only for plans to shift at the last second. Nikki Bella appeared on stage with a crutch, her ankle injury ruling her out. What followed felt personal. She refused to let the moment slip away and instead introduced someone who once defined an era.
Paige answered the call, and just like that, the night found its heartbeat.
WWE superstar Paige returns at WrestleMania 42
Saturday night turned into a story of timing and a little bit of chaos. Nikki’s decision to step aside came with clarity. “I didn’t want to ruin her sister’s WrestleMania moment,” she said, before revealing her replacement. Paige walked out to one of the biggest reactions of the night, marking her first WWE in-ring appearance in nearly nine years.
The stakes were high from the opening bell. The match narrowed down to Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair against Paige and Brie Bella. Outside the ring, Nikki made her presence felt, striking Flair with her crutch. Inside, Bliss went airborne, looking to close the show, but Paige read it perfectly. She countered, set her footing, and delivered the RamPaige. The three-count followed, and Paige stood tall again, holding championship gold alongside Brie. For context, Paige had not competed in a WWE ring since her 2017 neck injury forced her into retirement after a kick from Sasha Banks. Years later, after time spent in AEW, she came back to win.

The victory did more than add another title to Paige’s resume. It placed her in rare company. With the WrestleMania 42 win, her record on that stage remains untouched at 2-0, dating back to WrestleMania 31. That night, she teamed with AJ Lee to defeat the Bella Twins, making this latest chapter feel almost full circle. Her journey outside WWE is also remarkable. Competing as Saraya in AEW, she captured the AEW Women’s World Championship at All In in 2023, defeating Hikaru Shida, Toni Storm, and Britt Baker. That win, combined with her WrestleMania success, carved out a unique place in wrestling history.Paige is now the first wrestler to claim victories at both WrestleMania and AEW’s All In, two of the biggest stages the industry has to offer. At 33, she returns and has a lot to offer to the WWE.
